A Mirror on LA HWY 18 Vacherie LA

Mirror, mirror, on the wall.
I have started playing somewhat with reflections Mom.
This is one of the mirror is the Oak Alley Plantation - I like how the reflection is distorted, due to the age of the mirror.

A Bossy Bunch -York St - Denver CO

Shouts one mile high.
Today's flowers come from Denver Mom -
They are a bunch of Orchids, shouting and looking all bossy.
Happy Friday!

Point Cabrillo - CA HWY 1 - Mendocino CA

Lighthouses are romantic, in a reclusive hermit sort of way.

Greetings from Point Cabrillo Mom
Nice place to stop and stretch your legs - they have quite a few trails here.  We kept hearing something, sea lions? seals?  dog mermaids? but we couldn't find them.
I really wanted to find them.
Instead you get a picture of the very pretty Cabrillo Point Lighthouse.

Oak Alley in the Rain - LA HWY 18 - Vacherie LA

Rain didn't dampen the beauty.
It seems to rain quite a bit in Louisiana Mom -
but I like the colors of the rain jackets against the color of the house and walk.
We are outside Oak Alley plantation.  The house is beautiful  - and yet is such a vivid symbol of what was a rather bad period of Southern history.

El Capitan - South Side Dr - Yosemite Valley CA

A climber's favorite
So guess what today is Mom?
This is the anniversary of the first base jump off El Capitan.
Pelky and Schubert gave it a go this day in 1966.
It didn't go well, but they lived.
Of course, after that, jumping of El Capitan is verboten.

Wee Door - Habersham - Savannah GA

Cute, little, Colonial door.
The door is so tiny Mom!!
The Colonial buildings here in Savannah have some unfamiliar exactly what was this door for?
It is only about 4 feet high, so I hope it wasn't a residence of some sort.

Flowers for Friday Crossover Rd Fayetteville AR

Going red for Friday's Flower.

Flowers for Friday Mom!
Red poppies to remember everyone deployed.
You are wearing red right Mom?

Chilly Platte - Crystal Lake Rd - Pine CO

Dreaming of something cold.

Yeah, it is still really hot Mom,
Here is a vision of the chilly past.  We went up to the Platte River one early March,  it was so frosty.
Today, in the South everything is melting.
Try and stay cool.

Escaping from the Heat - Mystic Caverns - Cavern Dr - Harrison AR

Going deep.
Man oh man is it hot Mom!
Time to go caving.  Such wonderful air conditioners, caves.
I wonder if I can move in for the week.

Donkey! - Queen Ka'ahumanu Hwy Kailua-Kona, HI

This was a first for me.
Bottoms up Mom!

I had no idea there were wild donkeys here.
The first time I had ever seen a donkey crossing.
We never did see the donkey though.

Orchid Old Mamalahoa Hwy HI

Looking snappy!

We found a great botanical garden here in Hawaii Mom -
It is the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden and it has Orchids, lots and lots of them.
I love Orchids,  they are such bossy looking flowers :D

A Bum Along Queen Ka'ahumanu Hwy - Kailua-Kona -HI

Just a little moon.
Look Mom!
We found a "bum" beside the road.
Isn't it cool how everything erodes.

Rainbow Falls - Rainbow Dr.- Hilo HI

A scene from a postcard.

This is Rainbow Falls Mom

One of “the” falls to see on the big island.

Quite lovely really, but then this is Hawaii :)

Punalu‘U Beach - Ninole Loop Rd - Mountain View HI

Don't forget flip flops on this beach.

Here is another black rock beach Mom

This one is Punalu‘U Beach, in Mountain View.

Sea turtles gather here, I had hoped to put my zoom lens to good use...but no, the turtles were somewhere else.

Beach Banyan Dr Hilo HI

This isn't sand

These were not the beaches I imagined Mom,

A lot of the beaches on the Big Island are lava rock.  Sturdy and fun to hike out on.  The ocean is gorgeous and the rocks are alive with baby crabs (we have been very careful about where we stepped)
