First Look Into the Appalachians - Hwy 23 - Pound, Virginia - a.d. elliott

I was so excited about this road trip Mom!

I haven't ever been into the Appalachian mountains before, most of my road trips have been in the western U.S.

They are so green, covered in trees and Kudzu.

Hwy 23 is also called The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, with signs and info about the musicians who were raised in the Appalachians.  I had no idea there were so many.

There is also antiquing opportunities all along this route.

All in all, it was a fun drive.

A Note From the Road: Road Trip Arkansas - Is That A Ghost? - HWY 549 - Bella Vista, Arkansas

Eerie and unexpected.
This was a little creepy Mom -
I was wandering through the forest, getting pictures of leaves, moss, and squirrels etc and when I started processing this image I noticed the shadow.
I *think* (hope) it is simply motion blur from the wind, otherwise, Whispy and I were nose to nose.
I suppose it is almost Halloween.

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Nevada - Naked Strip - Las Vegas Blvd - Las Vegas NV

Look, Mom! No cars!

Some months ago I had made plans to run the Las Vegas Rock and Roll half marathon just to get this picture Mom.
Due to some unforeseen training issues (otherwise known as not training enough) I had to pass on running it.  We had thought to cancel the trip, but after #VegasStrong we made sure we came.
I was able to get the picture I wanted and I saw the race from the sidelines.
Next year!

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Colorado - Towing Capacity - I 70 - Eastern Colorado Plains

T The little Prius that could?

Did you know your Prius can tow Mom?
I am actually really shocked.  I had no idea that a Prius had that kind of gumption.
My hat is off for these totally fuel efficient travelers.
Bonus points for their groovy bike.
